I Need a Sports Bra for My Baby Bump/Lump

Okay so I may be exaggerating a little bit but…. really will it ever go away?!?!?!? My son is 17 months old, and it is still just hanging out. I know it’s going to take time and some really hard work, but I got a little discouraged. In the past few months I am seeing some really positive changes….. mostly in my head (=

My face is getting thinner, my thighs are too, I’m even losing some of that junk in the trunk…..but I still have the whole entire nursery hanging out. What added to the feeling was this morning, I didn’t wake up as perky as I usually do. I went to work out this morning and while doing a workout DVD…. The damn bump moved (hence why I was joking about wanting a sports bra for it). So after I was done with my DVD I really targeted my lower abs. It does make me happy that I am really starting to feel those muscles again. Hooray!!! Since the birth of my son I have had a really hard time targeting that area, and as weird as this may sound I like doing crunches. I just have to stick with it......"hey bump.... your going down!!!!"

Okay so on a different note I wanted to give a little shout out to Miss
Corletta! Her post this morning was very up beat and positive.... Just what I needed to get my day going! So in her honor have a TERRIFIC Tuesday........ Live well everyone!

  1. Hey there! I started a weight loss blog recently and I've been reading some other blogs written by women who are going through the exact same thing. I don't have a baby lump, haha, but I do have pudge in my stomach area...that is where most of my weight is carried. I got some yoga pants recently from old navy that has a waist band that folds up over my tummy. I probably look like I'm wearing high waters, but my t-shirt covers them up, and it gives me more control in that area. So I totally understand your battle with that problem area. Keep it up...I'm sure the lump will eventually go away!

  2. It will go away sweetie, and I can already tell that it is! I've got my roll, as I call it, and have been noticing it has been getting a bit smaller. Like I can't grab it and shake it violently like I used to, lol. But, it was the last thing to start going...but the important thing is that it is and so will your lovely baby bump :)

  3. I hear you! I'm still in maternity pants! Not for long though! Yea for smaller thighs and less junk in your trunk!

  4. LOL, that's great. Something to strap it down would be kinda nice! I have that issue, jumping jacks, ew, not pretty. A little too much jiggle in my wiggle. LOL, thanks for the giggle.

  5. I've got some serious stomach pudge. I think that's the hardest place to lose inches. Keep at it.

  6. Ugh, that baby fat is tough to lose! My little man is 13 months old, and like you I'm just now starting to realize I do still have ab muscles hidden away. When I feel the burn in my abs, I get giddy.

  7. Just saw Fit Mommy's post. At thirteen months postpartum, I finally retired my maternity pants.

  10. I hate to depress you but my kids are 3 and 5 and my belly isn't anything like it was before kids. My weight is back to where it was and I'm in the same size. But I have "dunlap" over my pants if I'm not super careful about what I wear. Focus on all the good changes your body is going through. P.S. Spanx.

  12. UGH!! I call mine my fat flap.
I have lost 80 lbs...and while it is a great deal smaller it still FLAPS.
    I hate it.
I made a promise to myself that on the day I notice it has taken leave of my lower abdomen, I will do 200 situps in celebration.

  15. Hi Candy - Hey! A sport's bra for the "spare tire" is a great idea. I some kind of binder. It sounds like you're doing fantastic, and seeing results all over. The baby bump lump will respond too - may take a little longer. I still have mine, and my baby is 21!

Your blog is great. Keep up the good work!
